Paris?

Today I come to you from Paris....well....I wish Paris!  No, just me in Texas still.  But I live vicariously through my sister though!  Last summer she got the opportunity to go to France for a festival with her Bassoon playing.  She had these 2 great photos of her in a really cute dress she bought in France.  I added her postcard she sent us and had to do a layout of it!

Brown cardstock.  Journey/Eiffel tower design, Imagine More Cart for the Cricut Imagine, light brown cardstock for matting photos, Eiffel tower brads from eyelet outlet.
I did have a little snafu this week though and I am truly devastated!  My Gypsy (which is a software device for Cricut machines) broke.  The USB port came out and I can no longer use it to cut with.  I called Provo Craft and there is nothing they can really do except allow me to buy a new one and then ship it back to them with the old one to switch over my cartridges since they are connected to the broken machine.  I however, am not going this route.  I am getting my Carts flashed and re-serialized so I can use them on the Cricut Craft Room instead.  We will see how this journey goes.  I must admit, I am not too pleased with Provo Craft at this moment.  They were nice on the phone, and were understanding, but hey, they have to make money right?  We'll see how I feel about them once I get all this cartridge thing sorted out.  Stay tuned....

I hope you did enjoy the layout.  I will still say I love my machine, but it is technology.  As one of my students said one year, "Technology is awesome....when it works!"  Thanks for looking and listening!

Harry Potter!

If you know me well, I love, love, love Harry Potter!  I re-read the books all the time and I love the movies.  I keep up with J.K. Rowling, and in fact her new book comes out in September.  I am excited about it!  It is an adult book, and has nothing to do with Harry Potter, but I'm sure I will still like it!  She has a "prequel" to Harry Potter available for e-readers right now.  I may have to check that out!

This layout was to scrap the last Harry Potter movie that came out last summer.  A bunch of us headed to the theater to watch part 1 and then part 2 at midnight.  We always have a blast and it is so neat to see people come out in costumes!

Black cardstock from Hobby Lobby for background.  Letter pattern paper from Black and White stack, DCWV.  Harry Potter title was created by EZ Laser Designs (got at convention).  Note card from Fancy Pants Design.  Gemstones from EK Success.
Hope you enjoyed this fun layout.  I also hope you are enjoying your summer.  I have 39 days left till students are in my classroom!  Oh my!  I better enjoy these days off!!!!  Thanks for looking!

7-11

Today is July 11th, or 7-11 day!  If you haven't already, go into a 7-11 and get your free slurpee!  I made this layout from last year's free slurpee day!  I love scrapping the everyday things sometimes.  They are fun to look back on!

Pattern Paper from Michaels.  Blue cardstock used for titles.  Cupcake Cartridge.  The flowers were Close to my heart except the purple one.  I got that one at scrapbook convention at the dollar store.  Brads used to keep flowers together.  Blue twine from Close to my Heart.
I hope you enjoyed the layout.  I love using fun paper for my backgrounds.  It's easy and always looks great!  Now go out and get your free slurpee!  I am!

4th of July Fireworks!

I just love the 4th of July!  Fun times with fireworks, sitting outside for a picnic or BBQ, having fun with family....things that are just great!  We love shooting off fireworks!  This past year we were in a bad drought, so there was a fire ban.  We just stuck with smoke bombs and sparklers mainly.  This was the layout I decided to use to display the fun we had!

Red background paper is Tammi Potter Mosaics.  Patterned Paper is Scenic Route.  Embellishment is  Queen and Co.  Title is Stand and Salute Cart.

I know I used the Tammi Potter paper in the last post, but her papers really are cool.  I love getting this tiled look!  I use it mainly for 4th of July, but have also used it for flowers at the Botanical Gardens and Mountain Scenes in Colorado.  There is a lot you can do with these pages if you have the patience!  Once you get going though, they are a snap to get done and look amazing when they are finished!

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a safe and fun 4th!
